5 Things To Know About The New Polaroid Compatible Film

Before you get all excited about dusting off your old Polaroid camera, here are some things you need to know about The Impossible Project’s new Polaroid compatible film.

5. It is going to cost you more per shot. It is $21 a pack and for only 8 shots that is a lot of money per exposure.

4. You don’t need to buy a new camera. There are literally millions of cameras that can use either px100 or px600 that you either already own or you can find at a yard sale for $1.

3. Make sure it is warm out. The new px100 and px600 are extremely sensitive to temperature variations. If it is too cold or too warm, your image quality will suffer.

2. It isn’t really black and white. See #3. The temperature during development will alter how sepia toned the image becomes.

1. You can’t watch it develop. PX100 and PX600 are extremely sensitive to light. For best results you want to hide the film emulsion from the sun for at least 2 minutes before viewing.
