Reach Out And Touch Someone

You know you want to reference the classic AT&T slogan.

I was walking around this college campus and looking for classic “college” signifiers. Librarys, buildings named after dead white people. The sort of thing that makes the space seem important and able to confer degrees on the indebted. I came up on this statue of a man sitting on a park bench and my first thought that he was one of the many sculpted Robert Frost’s around New England. He sort of looks like Robert but isn’t really. He is someone else. Someone important but for me a sign with no signifier. I decided to test my lens’ bokeh quality by focusing on his finger.

I Could Hear The Ice Cracking

I go to this one spot on the Mascoma River frequently because it is near my office and a nice place to take a moment and relax. On this visit, I could hear the ice in the river crack and break apart. It sounded like a lot of Rice Krispies® in milk.
