Die weiße Hölle vom Piz Palü – The White Hell of Pitz Palu

Leni Riefenstahl ice

Continuing with my Leni Riefenstahl theme this is a wall of ice I stumbled upon the other day driving on a back road in New Hampshire. I pulled my prizm over and whipped out Bessa the rangefinder and engaged in a little reportage. That is reportage pronounced in a way only people who don’t speak french but want to sound smart would pronounce it. Oh dear.

Other than that, Spring is my favorite time of year because the rivers over flow into fields leaving gigantic chunks of ice and snow. This year because the weather has been really awful, they seem to be larger than I can remember.

Triumph of my Will

triumph of the will

This isn’t Triumph of The Will by Leni Riefenstahl but some other triumph, my own triumph. I’ve been having issues lately with my film development technique and now I feel that I’ve figure out my issues. I like using older film technology like ilford HP5+ because I feel it has a character that newer t-grain films are missing. This is HP5+ triumphantly developed in Kodak HC-110 dilution B.
